Projects of Tanzplan Dresden

Productions at the theatre studio semper kleine szene and the Festspielhaus Hellerau
Tanzplan Dresden develops two projects per year at the studio of the Semperoper semper kleine szene and the Festspielhaus Hellerau which if possible are toured thereafter.
At the Festspielhaus Hellerau experienced choreographers work together with young graduates or students.
To realise the projects at the semper kleine szene Tanzplan Dresden regularly awards grants which young choreographers from all over the world may apply for with their own interdisciplinary concepts. Choreographers selected for a grant are assisted by a mentor during the rehearsal period in Dresden.

ImproWinter und Sommerwerkstatt: two dance workhops
In addition to these projects Tanzplan Dresden offers the opportunity for creative experimenting with improvisation techniques as well as interdisciplinary working methods organising two dance workshops ImproWinter and Sommerwerkstatt at the Palucca Schule – College for Dance.ImproWinter takes place every February. This weeklong workshop is for professional dancers, students of dance, dance pedagogy and choreography as well as individuals of other genres and domains. ImproWinter offers the opportunity to creatively explore and go beyond boundaries between art, science and technology. The Sommerwerkstatt takes place during the first two weeks of the summer vacation and offers dancers, musicians and artists of other genres as well as students in these areas a platform of interdisciplinary exchange.Contemporary dance as an artistic means of expression including a diverse repertoire is at the heart of this workshop which continuously develops through interaction with different genres such as video and visual art. Creative residencies for young choreographers complement this offer.
