Summer Workshop for professional/advanced dancers and visual artists
July 6th -17th, 2009
Palucca Schule Dresden – Hochschule für Tanz

The muse 9 programme offers a range of international guest teachers, including various dance training courses, body awareness methods, repertoire studies, and an interdisciplinary course for dancers and visual artists. Different course levels are indicated. The duration of the workshop is two weeks (2x five teaching days). Once again, two artistic teams are invited within the Creative Residency Programme. Foreign dance students could apply for financial support by means of a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship.

Who can take part

Professional and advanced dancers, dance teachers, choreographers, performing artists, visual artists are welcome, as well as anybody who is professionally involved with movement and art. 

Additional programme

Showings, DancefilmNight,  Performances, JAM, DanceCityTour, Lecture Demonstration and Long Night of the Museums form the basis of intensive exchange and of creative intensification of the Workshop. On July 16th the Public Closing Event will take place at Grüner Saal at Palucca School.

Shiatsu

Individual Shiatsu sessions can be booked with Ori Flomin (undefinedoriflomin(at)aol.com). Ori is a graduate of the Ohashi Institute in New York City and has been running a Shiatsu practice in NYC since 1999. (Sessions of 60 / 45 / 30 minutes cost € 45 / 35 / 25).

DAAD grants for foreign dance students

The Palucca Schule Dresden – Hochschule für Tanz and Tanzplan Dresden award five grants for the muse 9 Summer Workshop to students specializing in dance at foreign colleges. The grant includes financial support for travel and accommodation, full coverage of course fees, as well as insurance for the duration of the Workshop.
The jury has decided. Five dancers have been selected to achieve the DAAD grant:
